;D Got the damn disconnects on, finally. The sway bar & link actually seperate pretty easily once you trim away as much of that rubber bushing as you can (and NOW I know the trick!!). Oh, and just so you guys know, the bolt that goes through the sway bar & top mounting bracket is too big for the hole in the sway bar! Had to drill it out (not easy), guess I could've gotten a smaller bolt (too easy).
Why doesn't Desert Rat sell Rubicon Express lifts??!! Gonna finally get it! Looks like I'll have to go with 33s until I can afford some gears. I'm so excited!!
Got beanies?

And a lift that doesnt suck [RE is gay]. Call the store tomorrow and we'll talk about lift kits. You also have factory 4.10 gears so you are OK up to 35s especially with the 4:1 gears in the transfer case.

Cash flow? Nah, just got wifes blessing to use the credit card. Especially after seeing all the bent steel under my Jeep.
You guys working Saturday? Wife is taking the kids & I'm gonna spend the day checking out my lift options.

I'd rather go with 35s but from what I've read (Rubicon owner's forum etc.) the 4.10 gears & 35s aren't daily driver friendly, especially with an automatic. Also the axles aren't really 44s (44 guts in smaller shaft) & 35s will snap the stock shaft if you're not careful. Of course I want to be big & badass, but I still gotta drive it everyday.

As you will learn, the rat only carries stuff that they can make a ton of money on. So, they do not have all the good equipment. Tim is a stupid bastard. What really makes me mad is that he chewed out the ARB rep because he did not get back to him on a "good guy" deal or scratch and dent deal for ARB's for his jeep. He had no basis to chew him out. My guess is the ARB rep hates the Chin too. Its funny, I know a couple of guys that are heavy-hitters in the car industry around here and one day I had a d-rat shirt on and they commented on how much of an ass Tim is. I guess he's pretty much blacklisted with most of the dealers around here. Tim bothers me so much. He rips off his employees and makes a ton of money. But when it comes to getting something for his jeep or truck, he jews the suppliers for really cheap or free stuff.

Yeah, RE uses a radius arm set up doesn't it? No good. The Teraflex long arm with the triangulated UCA's is pretty nice.
The chin is still a fag.

What about the Full Traction stuff? Expensive but worth it? I went into a couple (other) Desert Rat's & they were really pushing it. Ultimate 4" looks interesting & only about $150 more than the RE.

Chit man , I drove around for a long time with 33's and 3.08 gears ...... with overdrive , in heavier truck with less horsepower . It worked . I then did 3.73's and 35's it worked too . I run 4.56 now . But I got to imagine your newer rig with more horsepower than my heavy Blazer has would love those gears . And shaft snapping is what spare parts are for . If it happens a lot , you get a second mortgage or sell your soul to Satan and run them fancy Chro Mo shafts

Full traction was being pushed because the Full Traction reps came by and tried to get everyone to push it. They really concentrate on correct panhard location to eliminate bumpsteer and that limits the strength and ingenuity of their systems. They shun x-over steering and prefer 4-link with panhard over a triangulated 4-link which is better in my opinion. A proper triangulated 4-link with strong crossover is better. We're wheeling and a little bump steer is ok. Full traction is only concerned with street-driving quality and it shows in the design of their kits. Teraflex will get you a fully triangulated fron 4-link which allows removal of the problematic panhard bar. And they sell some good crossover. Don't get me wrong, full traction builds some good stuff and I think their stuff is better than Rubicon Express but Teraflex is better than both.
