Kyle. Any info you can give me on this kit would be great (date available - Feb. ?, cost etc.). If it's reasonably priced I think this is the way I wanna go. I know you like the Teraflex stuff but I've been reading A LOT of negative info about it. www.superlift.com/suspension/jeep/97-TJ.asp Just out of curiousity I went to 4wheelers today to get a quote on the RE kit. Now I wont be able to sit down for a week!!

It will be more expensive. And i am curious to what all you are hearing negative about the tera flex kit? Personally i think its a kick ass kit. And havent really ever seen any problems with them. We can get you the superlift kit but i havent dealt to much with it so i can really say you will like it, now the tera kit i know you will like as we have done many of them and by doing it the way we talked about on saturday it is the best bang for your buck. You get a great kit that can very easily be upgraded later on down the road without costing you another arm and a leg.

" I've run the 4" Tera lift for quite some time. The control arm design is rather poor. They have ripped off the control arm mounts which I then replaced with stronger RE units. The bushings don't last long - and I lube the arms quite often. There are problems with getting adequate lubrication into the arms (they may have now added a second zerk) and the o-rings fail more often than they should. The threaded portion is now failing on three of the arms - once again, I lube them quite often. Two of us had direct communication with Tera re the lubrication problems and we were unhappy with the responses. Essentially, Tera admitted the problems existed, and different reps proposed contradictory actions as band aid solutions... "
" I will say I ran a Tera lift on my last Rubi, and I wouldn't run one again. Between spring lean, bushing failures and so on. Loved their disconnects and their shock relocators, hated their springs and arms... "
"I found that the polyurethane bushing in the control arms wear out too quickly. I've greased them more than suggested. TeraFlex customer service is EXCELLENT. They informed me i'm supposed to use "lithium grease". Well it was never stated in MY instructions. They sold me a new set for a decent price 8-( After switching to Lithium grease for this set, they too only lasted a few months at best. They get so sloppy it's hard to keep the keep straight down the road. Anyway, i've given up on the control arms. Until Teraflex starts using rubber bushings, I won't be buying another kit from them..."

Look, I'm driving myself crazy here! I will analyze this to death & then find a way to talk myself out of it. I tend to do that when it comes to big $$ purchases. Why do you think we've been watching the 14" t.v. that is sitting next to our broken 57" t.v. in the living room for the past year and a half? I need to HURRY & be done with it! Plan A it is (what we discussed Saturday) - the Rancho's (I can upgrade the shocks later and by not getting them now I bring the cost, including tires, to within my goal). No wait! By not getting the Rancho's I can get some rock sliders!!! How soon can you guys get me in?

Ranchos are a waste. For extra $20/shock you can get bilsteins and not worry about an upgrade. You talk of saving $$ but buying ranchos and then bilsteins will cost you $160 extra.

Sorry, should have been more clear. I meant, forget the Ranchos. The kit already comes with Superlift shocks & I can deal with those until I'm ready to upgrade to the bilsteins.

Cool chris that works.. Lets do it! I agree that if you plan to upgrade just skip the ranchos, although I have no problem with my 9000s. In fact I like them a lot compared to other shocks Ive run. They are not the best but by no means the worst. I have to admit though, that when my rear end gets done it will be bilstiens unless I have airshocks that say fabtech on them.

Kyle, sorry about not holding for you today. I was at work and had to go. Anyway, guess it was for the best... The BAD news: When I got home (just out of curiousity) I called the credit card number to get my available balance. Guess I should have done that first. Anyway, I got enough for the lift etc. but that would definitely max it out. Since that's our only source of emergency funds (household emergencys, suprise car repairs etc. - you know the stuff you hate spending money on but have to...NOW) it probably wouldn't be too smart to max it out on a "want". Thought the balance was lower, I forgot about a few Christmas "must haves". Guess I'll have to wait & see what our tax return looks like. Most of that will most definitely go into a real backyard (y'no...not dirt). Sometimes life really sucks!
