When I had my bigger tires and my flares off I got pulled over for my tires sticking out to far. But I was flinging mud everywhere on the highway in my Jeep

When I had 38's, no front fendors, cut up in the back, I drove my Jeep everywhere and never got pulled over. And it's "cop-city" out here. Sherrif, El Mirage and Surprise cops. But I never drove thru and flung mud, just water when it rained.

I've never been harrassed with the jeep but my boss get's it all the time with his lifted chevy. From hanging out on local jeep boards I've been under the impression that Jeeps are not considered trucks therefore are exempt from the lift and mud flap laws. I could be wrong but I've never heard a jeep guy complain about police harrassment for anything before. I run with no flares in the rear and my swampers are almost completely outside of the body back there. I even run no top/ no doors without mirrors and have passed many cops without them even giving me a second glance.

Yea my bad experience was in Nevada. Although I went to challenge it in court and the officer did not show up so it was thrown out.

Jeeps are "SUV's", so in that sense they are exempt. I think.

Lemme lay it down for you guys so you know for sure..
1. TRUCKS OVER 1/4 ton that have been modified to a bumper hieght that exeeds stock are required to run a mud flap that covers the entire tread of the tire & no more than 8" off the ground.
2. Some trucks are not trucks.
3. Trucks that arent trucks include anything that can be classified as a station wagon, including but not limited to blazers, broncos, jeeps of all kinds expect MJ's, ramchargers, or any other "SUV" or equivelent. Look on your title if you arent sure what you drive.
4. Some cops are ass holes & will pull you over & ticket you, but mostly only if you are one of the punk ass dudes that drives a giant truck with cool stickers on it.
5. You can drive a tube buggy on the street as long as its registered as anything but a pickup truck.
6. Any questiions? Ask.. Ive done the reasearch.

They are also found in the SUV trader and not the truck trader. Kinda hard to classify the Wrangler or CJ. It is unlike any other vehicle in soooooo many ways!
