ok, i have some friends who are doing the baja 1000 and asked if i wanted to do it with them, i said maybe. question being has anyone ever been,seen or even done the baja? i jsut wanna know what to sorta expect you know. well hope you guys can help thanx

im gonna buy a different dirtbike, and i have the money to do it right so money isnt a issue. jsut i want to know what to expect, im thinkin we r gonna do it next november.

better have a big ass 4 stroke and lots of practice riding long distance fast. I wouldnt even do it. I would start with the 250 or 500 first. And use that money to buy a truck!

o i see how it is kyle, its all good i dont care. im just asking for what im going to expect. if you dont belive me go out there in november and see for urself. but ya im going to work, and i have money saved away by my parents so its no big deal. besides i have a whole year to fuking save up

I dont think you realize how much it really cost, nor what is really involved in that. Yes it looks fun but it takes lot of training in advance and lots of money. You really should shoot fot the baja 250 or baja 500 first, On a bike i would start with the 250, and i would get a big 4 stroke and have lots and lots of ride time. Its just dumb to jump into the 1000 on a 2 stroke 125cc bike. Yes i want to do it too but i know i cant for awhile. You need to do some other long distance races before you just go to the top one. |

Right.. Lets say your 125 can do 65 mph if you gear it for high end. Take a 1k mile race & say you AVERAGE 55, tapped out in 5th gear most of the way. You are looking at nearly 19 hours of bike time, going this fast. Now add in pit stops, crashes & repairs, & the fact that you will prolly only average about 40mph & you arent lookin at a very fun race. Find me a bike & Ill run the b250 with you or the whiplash or something so you can get some practice before you bite off more than you can chew. |
