Just a heads up for anyone interested, We have reduced the Registration Fee for the 4X4 Challenge by 50%, which would make it $30.00 for the 4X4 Challenge And $12.50 for the Most Capable 4X4 Competition. for more info check out the site at www.averagejoe4x4challenge-expo.comThanks Ben

Ben, be honest with me here.. Is this thing turning out to be as big as you all had hoped? Im very interested in this & I think its a great idea but I dont know if it has been advertised enough for everyone to see it. I know I work at a local 4x4 shop, & nobody has been by to tell us about it, or try to put up a flyer or anything. I have a room mate that works at another POPULAR shop & have seen nothing there either. How many have registered so far & why has the price been dropped? Do people who signed up before get $30 back? Feel free to send me a PM if you dont want to post publicly.

Feel free to send me a PM if you dont want to post publicly. The reason for the discount in the Pre-registration fee is to give incentive to the competitors to sign up early, yes we wanted to have all the classes full by now, but they are not as yet, were sitting at about 40-45 competitors across the board, many are planning to run mutiple days. Another concern is that we wanted to avoid doing all that paperwork and registration out there at the site and possibly have it delay the activities, we have 50 slots per day for the 4x4 challenge and 40 slots per day for the Most Capable 4x4 competition, so to register 90 vehicles in one day would be a big pain for all involved. Even a single page form and writting a receipt for that many rigs would cause delays, which just frustrates everyone. Additionally at the site were unable to accept credit/debit cards, or process checks, so it will have to be all cash sales. All those that paid the $60.00 reg. fee will be refunded the 50%, of which several that I have talked with just said to roll it over to another day of competition. So in that respect were starting to fill up in classes. The advertising will start shortly, were in the process of getting posters made, and yes visiting as many of the 4x4 shops that we know of, additionally we have some editorial coverage coming out in a couple of newspapers and magazines, our title sponsor Ft. Mcdowell will tag us in on thier ads here shortly as well. Is that enough? No it's never enough, so I'm asking for everyones help to get the word out on this, it's your event just as much as mine, a chance to get out and compete and have some fun. Good question, I hope that I answered it fully. BTW P.M me with your 4x4 shop name and I will get some posters up there to you. Thanks, Ben

;D More advisement is always a good thing. But for me it is the timing. I'm not in town those dates. Also my Jeep is in the Pro Class due to lift alone puts me at the disadvantage in the class. Once lockers are installed maybe next year assuming the dates don't coincide. Steve

That a bummer you can't make it out to the event, maybe next time. I just wanted to mention here that maybe some possible competitors are concerned that they will be in a class that will place them in a disadvanage, our goal is to get all the competitors into the class where they will compete evenly. All the competitors that I have talked with want as even a competition as humanly possible. Allot of these concerns will also be talked over in the driver meetings before each event, and if there is a concern with a 4x4 we can adjust that vehicle either up or down a class. Thanks Ben ;D More advisement is always a good thing. But for me it is the timing. I'm not in town those dates. Steve, if youre in town for the event, stop by & we can throw a locker in the rear of your jeep for the weekend. It'll take me like 30 min including bullshitting & drinking & you will be more competetive. Ive got it in my garage if you wanna use it. Cant sell it to ya tho cause its goin in something else.

I realized that after I typed it in. Too bad though. Someday it'll have the lockers prefer ARB and who knows. Till then it will remain open.

Just talked with Jerry at California association of 4WD clubs. They will be attending the event and bringing out the brand new sweepstakes vehicle that they raffle tickets off for. Also there will be an editorial on this event in The College Times on the 16th. of Feb. Just a quick little note for those of you interested. Thanks Ben

If you live in Fountain Hills, AZ or have access to The Fountain Hills Times newspaper, check out the article about the event on page 5B. Ben
