Check this out.. Got it from the undertakers site. It was posted 2006-06-17 3:29 PM
A friend of mine has been helping with a number of land use issues in the area. One has come up recently where the White Tanks are about to be turned into a region park. They (the park planners) are working on approving specific activities in the park. Currently, they are NOT planning for OHV usage. Chris is working to change that. He needs a list of trails in the area that should be included as OHV use. With that list he also needs general locations. If someone has GPS coordinates, feel free to email them to Chris directly so it can be added to the list and included. The list below is what he already has. If you think of any that he missed, please send it his way.
=================
Here is a current list I was able to compile. I need to know if there are any other trails out there. Reason being is the majority of the South end of the White Tanks is being turned into the White Tanks Regional Park. At this time the park planners are willing to work with us and look at OHV being an approved recreation. Currently in their original scope we are not. I have worked with several people and prepared proposal that we think will get them to approve OHV as a recreational activity within the park. However one of the main things they spoke about was having a complete inventory of our trails. If we don't have them on the list and they are within the park boundaries we will lose them. Part of it being within the regional park will mean law enforcement will be patrolling the areas, something we currently don't have to deal with.
Please have them send anything to my personal email at My1stJeep@excite.com .
Current Trail Inventory:
1 Toyota Hill Within the park boundaries
2 Appetizer On State Trust Land along the main entrance path to enter the proposed park. With the implementation of the road in to the park a need for an alternate entrance may be required.
3 Intimidator Within the park boundaries
4 Land Slide Within the park boundaries
5 Oreo Canyon Within the park boundaries
6 Tax Collector Within the park boundaries
7 Firebird Within the park boundaries
8 Ruler Within the park boundaries
9 Turtle Falls Within the park boundaries
10 Scorpion Within the park boundaries
11 Chicken Loop Very near the border of the park boundaries, possible cross over into park boundaries.
12 Asylum Very near the border of the park boundaries, possible cross over into park boundaries.
13 Hummer Within the park boundaries
Thanks,
