How is the housing market right now in AZ? I am moving back & my GF & I are talking about buying a house out in Peoria area. Is this a good time to buy? I was thinking about renting for a year but it would cost me $12,000+ to rent for a year so we are thinking about buying instead.

Much better time to buy than when I did (a little over a year ago). Interest rates are still pretty good & (if buying new) the "frenzy" is over so builders are offering deals. Used houses are sitting for quite a while without buyers (unlike a year ago). It's a buyer's market!  |

I am looking at existing homes. Pretty much all new construction that I have seen & been apart of in resent years is crap. Cheap materials and shoty workmanship. I won't buy a new home either because I am anti-HOA and alot of new stuff has HOA's.
