wanting to see what people think of a new rock light that i am going to be distributing soon. its a L.E.D. light that is submersible to 10', has a 20' pigtail on it for ease if installation on long wheelbase vehicles, is vibration and shock resistant, and is only 3watts per fixture. the cost would be about 35 bucks a light. they come with a 40,000hr life rating and put out the same amount of light from 7-15volts.
thanks chris Lost Offroad Fabrication.

not cheap but worth every penny when you consider the abuse you can put them through. these have i think 7 or 8 but they run at a kelvin temp of 2800 which is real close to halogen at 3000. they put out 1.5 foot candles at 10'. i dont know how to post pics on here.

upload to a image host and paste the "img" script.
Umm how do you measure in foot candles??
do you mean 1.5million candle power at 10 feet??

I don't think 1.5million candle power is even possible with an LED that size.

1.5 foot candles is aproximately 10 lux. Or the intensity of 1.5 candles' illumination of a 1 foot radius sphere. The common unit is the candela which is aproximately .98 foot candles. If they are only 1.5 foot candles at ten feet then they are pretty dull, that means they put out the light you would expect from lighting a few birthday candles on the ground ten feet away from your light source : ) Why are these measured in foot candles, that is a measurement that photographers use? Do some research before you try to sell overpriced underluminous lights to a bunch of poor cheap bastards! The other specs sound great, as we all know pictures are worth a thousand words!

i hate to break it to you but 1.5 foot candles with these lights is a lot of lighting. ive put them right up against my 20w halogen bipin lights i run now and they are just as bright. for price, you get what you pay for. ive done my research, they are measured in foot candles because they are a low voltage outdoor light. i will be dropping one off at erics store this weekend if you want to look at it. as far as pics my usb is down so i cant download any pics from my camera and i dont have any on my computer.

Not sure if I'd want expensive rock lights. Have you got one in your posession Chris? Throw a small rock at the lense and see if it breaks. I dunno bout your rig, but mine throws rocks all the time.

I saw them today..it was plenty bright for under chassis lighting for rock crawlin plus it would take an insane amount of draw off your alternator plus last longer than your damn truck! That is if your truck doesnt throw rocks like freds..haha

to address freds worry about the lense i just sacrificed one to find out what it would take to break it. it took me 5 times with a huge ss 1" king pin hitting it with force from me swinging it to break it. personally i have never had a bulb break on my truck from a rock and my little 20w bi-pin bulbs are exposed with no glass or cover. and i know mine throws rocks like any other big lugged tire out there. if anything a lense of lexan or plexy could be put over it. but again the best thing to do is have your rock lights tucked up out of the way as much as possible.
