Now that I bought my GF a ring it is time to buy one of these.



I am going to have to find a guy to customize it or build me a whole 1911 from the ground up though. Kimber doesn't make the caliber I want.

I am going to have to find someone to put a 9x23/.38super barrel in a 1911 or build me a gun in that caliber. I may settle for 10mm but I really want 9x23 Win.

kimbers rock! i like there tactical ones. i have a buddy who has like 5 or 6 kimbers in different configs. so does it work like this: ring=xxxx dollars so gun=xxxx dollars to match?

Nope, I just had to promise I would buy her a ring before I built a buggy and/or a pistol. The ring is bought so now it is time to start real planning for my buggy project and the pistol. ;D

Only thing i would think about is availability(sp) of ammo. Kimbers are very nice, my 9mm shot 5k rounds before it finally gave up

Kinmber in .38 super , longer barrel than the pic you posted .

From what I gathered reading some forums on that question , you would use the same magazines , but have a custom 9x23 barrel fitted since you can't just use the .38 super barrel .

There is also the Pro Carry II in .38 super , but impact says they are backordered 3-4 weeks on their site . This is less than 9 bills .

I love 1911's . Unfortunately I won't be buying a real nice one anytime soon . Wouldn't mind a S+W auto in 10mm either .
