Well let's see rise in crime. To be expected with a rise in population. Nowhere does it state that they account for the majority of the crimes. In fact of the numbers that they are throwing out there AZ has only 8% of those. "Eighty percent of all arrests occurred in three states--California, Texas, and Arizona. Specifically, about 58 percent of all arrests occurred in California, 14 percent in Texas, and 8 percent in Arizona. " Seems to me actually AZ is doing a better job than the other states in question. It is easy to start throwing out numbers but to factually back them up is a different story. Like before I never said they are not criminals but we have bigger fights. The Phoenix metro area seems to be plagued with serial rapist, shooters, killers, child malesters for the past several years. The PD only has so many resources and me personally I'd much rather them use them to go after these bunch of CRIMINALS. There has been and I believe still are a bunch of volunteers that do help patrol our borders in the so called hot spots. They also inform the proper authorities when they spot the immigrants crossing. If you are that worried about those that are crossing because they are taking away from you why don't you join one of those volunteer groups. I'm sure they would love to have some more help and support. I am not going to travel that far to volunteer for something that I don't have that strong a conviction on. I do not like them crossing but at least most of them are actually after a better way of life. I will also tell you of those I've worked with over the years they've been the best employees one could ask for without so much as asking why. We as Americans don't do this in fact a lot of the laboring jobs they are filling is because we do not want those jobs for the simple fact that it is just to hot, not enough money, very laboring, etc. So who's fault is it really. It falls right back on ourselves.

Steve, I feel I must apologize to you. I get mad at the people on the AZBC forum when they get into discussions like this because it isn't 4x4 related & not the place for it. I commend you for volunteering to help keep the trails open. I do follow the rules but I know many don't. I don't believe the PD should be taken away from the city streets to patrol the border. I just think the Border Patrol could definitely use a fleet of these vehicles to help them do their jobs. The flood of illegal immigrants into this state is a major problem & it effects us all. Crime, employment, health care costs, education for our children etc.
In retrospect I also apologize for the "dick" remark. What good are rules without enforcement.

No apology needed. I do not take anything personal. I didn't want to take it to the extent it has. I have my opinions and so do others, that is what makes our world round. The Border Patrol definately could use more patrol units. The one that Hunter has is his own but would make a great prototype for them to patrol. If I lived closer I might try to help at the borders but since I don't I'll do what I can here locally. Heck you may be right, my wife calls me a "dick" all the time. Seriously no hard feelings from me. I also get offended and will stand for my convictions. Take care

I am not disagreeing with your point but try quoting an objective source and it will be more creditable.

Doing whatever ne needed to keep the trails open is good. Kudos! However. I have a bone to pick with you on this statement. "As far as the border goes you are saying they are real criminals because they crossed our borders? That is BS" THEY ARE CRIMINALS IF THEY CROSS THE BORDER ILLEGALY. Most Az criminal activity is due to ILLEGAL imigrants. END OF ARGUMENT. Most illegal activity in AZ is due to METH. Ask any lawman and that is what he will say. Nowadays most meth comes from Mexico so you can infer that illegals are a source of the problem but your average Chuy coming over for work so your dad can save money on labor is not a big deal in my book.

And one more thing, F the border. They need to be patrolling the areas busting the fags that are ruining land access for US. If so much as a gum wrapper touches the ground send that bastard back to the city with a ticket. $100 for every bullet shell on the ground. That will change our areas.

I have no problem with patrols, as long as they don't lead to closures. We need to support our land and keep those who don't out, that means getting permits and cleaning up, but that also means keeping the trails open for us to enjoy responsibly. Just this weekend I ran Highway to Hell and picked up more trash than I would care to, but I also picked up something that should never be left by a wheeler......
A windshield! With a big dog wheelers sticker on it! I don't know who bid dogs are but, they need to pick up their shit!

Steve- know who or where to contact to learn more about doing something like that? I'm assuming this is in referrence to the OHV Ambassador program. Here is the contact information. If you have any questions on the program Troy is the one to contact. Either call him directly or send him an email and he will get back to you. CONTACT: Troy Waskey Off-Highway Vehicle Planner 602.542.1665 email: twaskey@azstateparks.gov The training classes are set to start in September but have not been set in stone. He will be able to best explain to you what all is involved and what the requirements are. Hope to see some of you there. Steve M.
